Matthew Whitsett
Matt plays not only the guitar but also the keyboard and drums. Whenever he’s not playing music, Matt is out practicing basketball, his favorite sport.
In the foreseeable future, Matt wishes to receive straight A’s for the first quarter, but he isn’t quite sure what he wants to do in his lifetime yet. After visiting Haiti on a mission trip this past summer, Matt wishes to return there for another missions trip, as he said it was a lot of fun. Matt’s favorite foods include cheeseburgers, french fries, and pizza. In order to show off his cleverness, Matt would choose to take a “boat, motor, and plenty of gasoline” if he were to stranded on a remote island.

Kayla Jones
Kayla is a freshman dance major from Chesterfield, Virginia. When asked what she enjoyed doing as a hobby, the first thing she mentioned was choreographing. She said, “I began enjoying choreographing when I was about eight years old and when I started attending dance studios.” When she began going to an actual studio, she found that dancing and choreographing were activities that she wanted to continue doing. Kayla has continued dancing and making her own dances over the years and has still not lost that passion.
Kayla’s future goals include going to Juilliard in New York, where she will become a professional dancer. She hopes that one day she will be able to open her own school of dance.

Jasmine Davis, from Petersburg, Virginia, is a senior Literary Arts major at ARGS. She loves writing poetry and considers that as one of her strengths along with her least favorite subject, math. When she graduates this spring, she plans on going to college at Virginia State University and double majoring in Accounting and Finances with a minor or concentration in Business Management or Human Resources.
Visual Arts Editor
Isabel Wilson
“I wanted to work on the literary magazine since the very first day. I love art and how a simple picture can inspire people so much,” said Isabel. When she isn’t drawing, she enjoys sewing and playing softball. She finds herself most relaxed in the comfort of her own home because it is the only place she can have peace and quiet. Isabel described her first two days here at ARGS as “crazy” because of her busy schedule. She plans to continue pursuing her interest in Visual Arts, mainly in acrylic painting in college.
